Indication: applicable to the reduction and fixation of fractured distal lateral tibia; classified as left and right types
Material: Titanium
Spec. (mm): 117 mm7 holes -225mm13 holes
Matching Screw: Φ3.5 Locking Screw; Φ3.5 Cortical Screw; Φ3.5/4.0 Cancellous Screw;
It is designed specifically to treat fractures. It gives surgeons the freedom to control fixation and helps restore not just the patient's anatomy but their lifestyle.
The Locking Compression Plates (LCP) are part of a plate and screw system that merges locking screw technology with conventional plating techniques. It is a comprehensive system of straight plates indicated for temporary internal fixation and stabilization of osteotomies and fractures. The system is designed to combine the principles of interfragmentary compression and bridging.
The plates have figure-8 shaped holes that accommodate both standard screws and locking screws on either side of the hole. The Locking Compression Plate System has many similarities to existing plate fixation methods, but with a few important enhancements. Locking Screws provide the ability to create a fixed angle construct while utilizing familiar AO plating techniques. A fixed-angle construct provides advantages in osteopenic bone or multifragment fractures where traditional screw purchase is compromised. Locking screws do not rely on plate-to-bone compression to maintain stability, but function similarly to multiple small angled blade plates. The locking screws have threaded heads that are threaded into the plate holes. The plate can be used as a compression plate, a locked internal fixator, or an internal fixation system combining both techniques. The variety and compatibility among the components result in more fixation options, as well as enhanced fixation in difficult fractures. The system is indicated for osteotomies, comminuted fractures, fractures in osteopenic bone, nonunions, and malunions.
Features & Benefits
*Apply the implant as an internal fixator to bridge comminuted zones while providing stable fixation
*Allows the use of standard screws as well as locking screws in the same plate
*Combination locking and compression holes create a figure-8 shaped hole that provides locking capability at either side of the hole
*Anatomically pre-contoured profile minimizes the risk of soft tissue irritation between the plate and surrounding soft tissue. Reduce impairment of blood supply, wide variety of plates optimize implant selection.
